Gibson Electric Guitar Facts I need recording electric guitar tips?
I'm new to recording. I use garage band as my software and an audiobox usb audio interface to plug into my mac. I have a gibson les paul studio and i use a line6 podxt live for my effects/distortion/amp models and what not. When i record my guitar, it usually doesnt sound the way I want it to. It doesnt sound full and complete. In fact it sounds pretty weak. Is it my tone thats the problem or is it my equipment
A good way around this is to use a mic instead of going direct to the USB interface. Connect a mic to the XLR mic input on the interface and use that to mic your amp:

Put the mic right in front of the amp - you'll probably get a more real sounding recording.
I was looking at a few 12 string guitars, and I wanted to know if the rickenbacker 660 12 string model was good, and if it wasn't prone to warping?
Two words:
Buy it.
A Rick is the gold standard for 12 String Guitars. Period. If you take care of it, it's not going to warp. Good guitars warp from misuse. A Rick is a great guitar. If you like the way it feels and sounds, I suggest you pick it up. I know guys who have been playing Rick 12 Strings for almost 50 years. Most of them say they have never found anything close to it.
Where can I find a Rickenbacker 325, like the one John Lennon played with the Beatles.?
I would like to find a model 325 Rickenbacker electric guitar, like the one that John Lennon played with The Beatles. Here's the catch, I need a low price on it. I have found some, but they are in the $3000 range. I realize that John's guitar was custom made, so it would be expensive, but if anyone knows where I could find the Rickenbacker 325 for a low price, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much!
I got a Rick like his...yeah I wish. I love those guitars, they are my favorites. when you find a place tell me!
Guitar Body Black I have a Kapok guitar(steel strings). The neck meets the body at the 12th fret. Is it acoustic or classical?
It's black and has steel strings and the neck meets the body at the 12th frets; it has a total of 18 frets. I'm really confused: is it acoustic or classical?
An acoustic guitar is one that doesn't need or use amplification. A classical guitar is one type of acoustic. Classical guitars usually have nylon strings (unless somebody has replaced them with steel) If the neck meets the body at the 12th fret, you probably have a small body steel string acoustic. Most larger acoustics (like dreadnoughts) meet at the 14th fret.
Guitar body repair and shielding with coper foil tape.
I have a VERY old acoustic guitar. I'm not sure on the exact date, but I know that it is at least 60 years old, made by a company called Kay, which I believe isn't around anymore. It is in perfect condition, and I hear that older guitars tend to cost a little more, I don't know why. How much do you think I could get for it? Full-sized, natural dark body with a black pick guard.
if its at least 60 years, in good condition and stuff.
no matter what make it will be atleast £600
Peavey Predator Guitars Is this a reasonable price for this guitar?
I've got a peavey predator, which I have owned for about 7 years. It has been played very little and just sat on it's stand. I was thinking I could sell it for about $150. Does this seem reasonable? What would you pay? Be honest.
Yeah, I guess. Personally, I would never buy a guitar without playing first it though.
HOW TO RELIC YOUR GUITAR PEAVEY PREDATOR PART 6 FINISHED GUITAR
I would be apprehensive about the sound quality of that little 10 watt amp. I'll bet it sounds like crap for that price. If you already have an amp, I would look at the guitars and compare them to each other. If that peavey predator has a floyd rose tremelo, and that strat knock-off on craigslist just has that stock tremelo system from the factory, I'm willing to bet that the stock will knock you out of tune alot easier than that floyd rose. And don't those predators come with humbucking pickups??? Those will have a lot less buzz than those single-coil pickups, (but they won't sound as bright). The single coils will have a thinner sound, also.
I, personally, would go with the humbuckers, although many people don't care for the electronics in the predators (cheap). But I'm sure the single coils in the red strat won't be of any higher quality.
I'd go with the peavey predator, myself based on the floyd rose tremelo vs stock tremelo & humbuckers vs single coils. But that matches my style of music more.
If this is your first guitar and gear, and decide to get that guitar pack, ask the owner if you can hear it and try it out first before you buy it. Like I said, I would imagine that little cheap amp probably doesn't sound too good.
But I could be wrong about the whole thing. Its up to your ears to decide once you hear it.....don't buy without testing it first to see if you really do like the way it sounds!!!

What is the best electric guitar to buy for under £200?
i am looking to buy an electric guitar for under £200
any suggestions?
I recommend a used Schecter. I have a C1 classic I bought two years ago for $300 US. They have single body construction and a string-thru bridge with nice components, especially good stock pickups, and a five-way switch. Excellent sustain, great look, and very durable. Not to mention a damn sexy inlay. Looks like it's worth thousands.
The only thing I have done with it is replace some of the inside wiring with thicker guage wires. If you read reviews on musiciansfriend.com, you'll see that the ONLY complaint is that the factory wiring is a little sloppy. I did the work myself for $5 of wire and some time.
I have an American tele and a Les Paul custom as well as a few acoustics, and the Schecter is still the one I go to first because I find it can play just about anything.
Read some reviews, then check out ebay or your local shop. Enjoy!
