Starter Beginner Guitar What is the best starter acoustic guitar?
I'm just starting to gain interest in guitar and want to start lessons as soon as I can. I have never played before and am looking for a decent beginner guitar to start off with. I don't necessarily want a piece of junk, but I want something that is built and plays nice and will last me many years.
I have heard many suggestions as far as which brands to choose, but would like to get a second opinion (I'm looking to spend around the $300 range and can go $50 or so in either direction)
- I definitely want a finished guitar and am leaning towards a smaller auditorium/concert frame for I am 5"3' and don't know if I would be comfortable learning to play on a dreadnought
If you could answer with specific brands and models that would be really helpful as I cannot come to a decision on which guitar to buy (once again, I want the best sound, quality, and looks I can get for around my price range)
thanks
The Dean Playmate is the best beginners guitar you'll get. It's a cool guitar for only 70 bucks.
Here's some reviews for the Playmate and other good entry-level guitars.
Would a Taylor 114ce be a decent starter guitar for a beginning acoustic guitar player?
I would like to purchase a beginner guitar that will last for at least two years. I would be willing to buy a more expensive guitar later, but I don't want to feel rushed to upgrade in the first year or two.
Even a CHEAP Taylor beats most beginners guitars on the market. It's not a great guitar, but it beats a FIRST ACT or a CORDOBA or an EPIPHONY hands down.
Archtop Guitar Red off brand knockoff les paul (in red or blue??)?
Im about a month out from getting an electric guitar. I am thinking about getting a stagg L320. Does anyone know anyother good archtop les paul knockoff for 200-300 dollars, preferebly in wine red or the tiger's eye blue. Im a beginer, so it just needs t be well built and look good.
I personally began with a cheap no band guitar that my brothers girlfriend gave me, but then i figured i wanted to move onto something with a bit more style, so i bought an encore its a knock off brand from the les paul, good quality and good to play on, mines personally black, but my friend has a white encore and my other friend has a red encore.
so i would personally recommend the encore.
hope i helped
Left Handed Electric Guitars guitar frets for left handed electric guitar?
Around 19, 23 I have heard on the amount of frets, but where does 0 begin? does 0 begin near the tuning? or opposite way around on a left handed?
Fret "0" does not exist. If on a tab, there is a "0", that means that the string is play open. I think this is the answer to the question you tried to ask.
This will be my first guitar ever so I really don't know which guitar to take. My budget is 240USD. Being left-handed makes things for difficult where as I do not have much option. I'll be nice if you guys could give recommend me one that is left handed. And also another question, which would u suggest me to go for between these three guitars: GRX20L, GRG170DXL, RG120L. They're all Ibanez.
So I need two answers from you. One is the guitar u recommend from yourself and another is between those 3 guitars that I mention. Btw, I'm into pop and metal maybe blues.
I wrote an article that lists a few great beginner left handed guitars, you may find it useful
Any of the Ibanez guitars you listed would be fine, but don't expect to be able to use the trem bar on any of them. Tuning stability is the only reason I don't recommend Ibanez to beginners, but if you don't use the bar you'll be fine. If you go second hand you could get a much higher spec model.
Also, please don't listen to the guy above who suggested learning right handed. There's always one idiot... If you're left handed and that's the way that feels natural to you - play that way, you'll thank yourself later on.

Who would you take with the first pick of your Nextel Cup fantasy racing league?
I would take Jimmie Johnson, he is first in wins, top 5s, top 10s and average finishing position/ranking since 2002 (the stats for the last 5 years are in the link below). Please tell me who you would take and why.
I would have to agree with you. With 5 straight years in the top 5 in points.. including a champioship, The #48 has been the model of consistency. The #20, #24 and #17 are close 2nd's. Tony and Jeff can always win, and Matt would be a safe consistant bet.
