What is the aluminum-colored metal tht is inside electric motors?
I know that it's not aluminum because it has copper wiring wrapped around it. Is it stainless steel? It is stacked in about a two inch stack that has alot in the stack and the pieces are cut really thin. Maybe .060'' thick. the electric motor came out of a ceiling fan. I am separating the brass, copper and whatever this metal is from the steel.
Quilt Floyd I am looking for a shreddy type guitar, under $550.00...?
Or < or equal to $450.00 used...
Needs dual humbucker routing, locking floyd rose, fast neck. Don't want enough points to kill someone. I already have a Melody Maker, a Ibanez Talman w/ Lipsticks, two Strats and a SG, so this will cover the broots and shreddy ground. It'd be used for things like...

And also for some "lighter" stuff, like Back In Black and No More Mr. Nice Guy. The pickups will more likely than not be swapped down the road. Quilts or flames a bonus. I am not a beginner, or intermediate. Probably a little bit higher up. I just am not too familiar with "hair metal" guitars. I like TV Yellow, Hot Pink, Purple... I really like the looks of Jackson Warriors and Dinkys. Let the suggestions roll!

Guitar Skb Does anybody know of any shaped electric guitar cases that are available?
I have a Fender Stratocaser and need a hardshell case for it, but I want one that is shaped like a guitar, not the typical rectangular shaped cases. Does anyone know of any that would fit a Strat? The only one I know of is the SKB flight case. Also, would a Strat fit in a case that's made for a Gibson SG or Les Paul? (because all of those cases are guitar shaped)
Thanks...Rock on
Hello there,
There are several cases shaped to fit the Strat. I see those on eBay frequently. I have never bought one, so I cannot tell you about the quality and how they compare to the rectangualr cases for protection. I have an old Fender case that I use.
No, most cases designed for specifically for a Les Paul or a SG will not work with a Strat. The guitar dimensions are too different. Also, cases fitted for a Jaguar or Bronco will not work for the Stat even though those are Fender guitars also. Most fitted cases are pretty much specific to one model. That is why you see so many rectangular cases, those are generic.
Please tell me which guitar case is the best kind to get for a Les Paul style guitar?
I am looking at SKB TSA Les Paul $130
bit of money for me. but I am thinking it would be safer / better when you have to travel oversea ?
if not TSA approved locks, how would you travel with your guitar case ?
Thank you.
Absolutely invest in a good case like SKB. Imagine getting somewhere and your headstock is snapped. You'd never forgive yourself for saving a few bucks. $130 is a great deal to protect a guitar- and then both items will last a lifetime.
Electric Guitar PrIce what would the price of my electric guitar?
my guitar is a green stratocaster encore remake it is in good condition and has no real problems. i am thinking of selling it for £50 but i am wondering if i could get more than that for it.
Since it is not new, even though there are no real problems. Start with what you paid and take off 20% then another 10% for each year you have had it. Take off the price of a new set of strings even if the ones on it are new. The buyer will most likely have a preference.
Expect the buyer to try it out. Make sure amp and cables all work perfect and you are not getting any bad sounds cause by anything, even if it is not the guitar.
Make sure you wipe it down and that it is looking it's best when the buyer sees it.
When you set the price, expect to be offered less. No what the absolute minimum is that you will take.

Can musicians legally sign your instruments? Please answer!?
I'm going to see a band next month, Papa Roach, with backstage tickets, allowing me to get one thing of my choice signed by all three bands. I heard from a friend who went to some concert that the musicians aren't allowed to sign instruments. Is this true, because I really want my bass signed!
Helena x
Of course they can sign your instrument. There is no law against anything like that. They may have a contract with their recording company that limits what they can sign, but no law.
If you have won backstage passes that allow you to bring one thing to be signed, then you will get that one item signed.
