Why do people think World Tour stole the idea from Rockband?
If you think back, Guitar Hero 1 was first. Which means the whole music on a game thing was GH. People are saying Rockband was so original and creative . . . I know and agree that Rockband was very innovative to create the whole band atmosphere, but without the idea of GH, whose to say that Rockband would have been thought of to such an extent.
Where is the love for GH for blasting through and making music so much more entertaining again. In my opinion, Guitar Hero are the true innovators and Rockband jumped on the bandwagon. So Guitar Hero: World Tour simply was just getting even. There are always knockoffs, but in this case, one led to something better which led to a pretty kick ass idea.
they think that because they never played gh1 or gh2. as for me and you. i take it that you played gh1 2 and 3... and so have i.. when i played rockband 2 and went back to playing ghwt there was a different vibe.. rockband was like yeah...woo hoo, ghwt was likke GOD DAMN.. and plus look at the guitar for rock band its just horrible.... and of course do not forget the fanatics...those peeps are killers with a wild imagination

There are some grammatical errors which you can fix through editing once the piece is finished. (Example, Mars' should be Mars's if their name is Mars. I know that feels awkward but if you check the Chicago Manual of Style, or most grammatical books they'll say the same.). The beginning hooked me immediately, with a very strong voice, especially the last sentence in the first paragraph. That was original, quirky, and fun, and gave me a good initial opinion of the character. What follows slows the opening because not much happens. There's this fantastic setup, with tension, and then deflating. You might be doing that on purpose to set the reader up for something that follows, but in this snippet that isn't obvious. There's dialog between the two that doesn't move the story forward and doesn't show the characters. Their dialog doesn't do much other than show some awkwardness, and I think you could accomplish that by deleting a lot of their dialog and tightening it. Their actions don't advance the plot much either, other than getting them downstairs and in front of a TV. Oh, and I think he would have noticed her brace either right at the door or as she was lumbering down the stairs. But anyway, take a look at what you hope to accomplish with this scene. What is the purpose of having them watch the South Park film, if nothing happens because of it? Think of the writing in the terms of scene/sequel. Something happens, and then it must be followed by a reaction, even if that reaction is internal. So they watch South Park, but why, and what happens because of it? If nothing happens, why does that scene exist? If you look at it that way it might help you tighten up this piece. Either way, the opening is wonderful and strong, and I'd suggest keeping that and seeing how you can follow it with a stronger section than them just watching TV. But of course, that again depends on what follows this. Good luck.
