Who can help rewrite my song?
Hi...I have written a song with piano, synth strings, trumpet, drums, vocal parts (sop, alto, tenor, bass), bass guitar, acoustic guitar, and synth flute. I want to find someone to add to each of these parts, maybe add more instruments, and just make it better...it will eventually be a song specifically for a performing show choir, so the style can be altered if needed.
More brass would be nice, and the vocal needs to be completely redone, and drums should be better.

What format is it now? did you compose it with midi or is it just sheet music or what?

Do fretted string (guitar) instruments really have any advantage over the keyboard layout.?
As a keyboard player, I was pondering this as I sat down today trying to play some mildly-complex guitar chords and reading some crappy tabs. I'm used to keyboards. You can play ten notes at a time. On a guitar, you can play six, but you can really only modify four (because of your thumb). So what are the real advantages of a fretted string instrument? Modern synths and keyboards are just as portable now.
I'm not talking about different sounds. I'm talking about the interface you use to create the sound.
I think in terms of composition, keyboards have the advantage. Because all your keys are laid out just the same, you tend to look at the composition in terms of notes. Guitar players will tend to get hung on techniques; they gravitate toward known chord forms and connecting licks and so their music tends to sound the same.
But you will never get the kind of personal connection to the notes you're playing as you do with a guitar. On a piano you plunk a note and your only variation is volume. On a guitar the tone changes depending on what you pick with and how much of your finger you involve. It changes depending on your choice of picks and strings. It changes depending on where you pick and how you pick and how deeply you dig into it. It changes depending on how you mute and whether you choose open strings or involve harmonics. You have the option of adding vibrato, bending the note(s) (a pitch-wheel just isn't the same connection).
That's why so many people compose on piano and perform on guitar.
